Born and raised in Southeastern Pennsylvania, Dr. Goodman graduated from Sun Valley High School, the University of Delaware, and, in 1977, the University of Pennsylvania School of Veterinary Medicine. She has over 30 years’ experience treating birds, reptiles, and small exotic mammals.

In 1993, Dr. Goodman was among the first 20 veterinarians to become a board certified specialist in Avian Practice by the American Board of Veterinary Practitioners. She is also a member of the following organizations:

• The American Veterinary Medical Association
• The Association of Avian Veterinarians
• The Association of Reptilian and Amphibian Veterinarians
• The Association of Exotic Mammal Veterinarians
